CANIZZARO

Stanislao Canizzaro was born in Palermo on 1826 and died in Rome in 1910.

Canizzaro's work is very important inside the history of chemistry during the XIX century.

In Italy he founded the first modern chemical laboratory in Rome's University; between 1883 and 1886 he founded the chemical laboratories of customs.

He was a burning nationalist.

Very important it is its speech during the chemists' congress in Karslruhe (1860), in that occasion he asserted the Avogadro's law and its theories.

He was a member of many Academies in Italy and in France.
