REPULSION OF THE
ELECTRIC CHARGES
WHAT IS IT? it's a device which shows
that charge with the same sign repel.
MATERIALS: 2
parallelepidal pieces of wood;
4 small triangular pieces
of wood
1 empty tinfoil ball, nylon
thread
1 small iron hook
1 plastic straw
.
HOW DO YOU MAKE IT?
1. Nail the four triangular pieces of wood so that they make the footing
of on off the parallelepipeds
2. Nail the second parallelepiped perpendicular to the first so theat
you have an upside-dow L- shaped structura
3. Screw the iron hook into the end of the horizontal arm; ill have
now an upside down L shaped structure, apply an iron hook at the end
of the
horizontal
staff
then
knod the nylon
thread
to
it using a tinfoil ball.
How it works: to observe the repulsion of electric charges you have
to load one plastic straw rubbed on the wool and touch delicately the
ball so that will assume the charges passed.
You'll seen than that when you draw up to the ball, this will be repelled
by the straw.
If you do the some proceding with a glass sraw the small ball will be
because the glass will be electic with opposite charges.
