BUILDING AN ELECTROSCOPE
- What is it?What is it? The electroscope is an instrument/device
which points out the state of electrification of a body.
- Used materials:a jar, copper wire, insulating tape, tinfoil leaves.
The electroscope comsists of a jar with a cap. Alength
of twisted copper wire passes through the cap working as conductor towards
the tinfoil leaves. At the end of the copper wire there are two hooks
which hold the tinfoil leaves. The copper wire is insulated from the
jar by insulating tape.
If you touch the copper wire with any electrified object,the tinfoil
leaves will move apart.The more the leaves repel the highe their electrical
charge is
