La domanda che ci siamo posti e alla quale anche gli scienziati cercano una risposta è: "COS'E' IL TEMPO?" Le risposte che abbiamo trovato in un intervista a Richard P. Feynman sono di diverse persone che rispondono in base alle loro conoscenze, ai loro studi, al loro lavoro e alle loro credenze. Richard P. Feynman ha definito superficialmente il tempo con due espressioni: "il tempo è ciò che accade quando non accade nient'altro"; "il tempo è quello che già sappiamo:è quanto aspettiamo!! Il tempo è qualcosa di periodico cioè che si ripete con regolarità. La prima cosa periodica che ci può venire in mente è il giorno e per vedere se tutti i giorni sono uguali si può fare un confronto con una clessidra: girarla ogni volta che cade l'ultimo granello e contare quante volte si gira in un giorno e quante volte in un altro; oppure contare le ore dall'alba fino a che il sole raggiunga il punto massimo della sua altezza ogni giorno. Secondo alcuni scienziati la prova più veritiera è quella del sole perchè la clessidra può essere girata con più o meno velocita e poi non c'è la sicurezza che sia girata appena caduto l'ultimo granello.
