A Mathematical Snaker


This game is designed to be played by two players that throw a dice twice each one. Each player has a pawn and moves it according to the rules below.

The winner is the one who will reach first the 25th square !


• At the beginning, each player locates his pawn on square No. 1


• As we said before, each player throws the dice twice and calculates a-b=c. (a is the first who throws the dice, b is the second)


• If c is a positive number, then the player moves his pawn c squares forward


• If c=0, the player stands still and the next one plays


• If c is a negative number, the player moves his pawn c squares backward


• If a player stands on the first square (at the beginning, for example) and c is negative or zero, then the player doesn’t move, he just loses his turn


• If a player on a backwarding reaches the first square and he still has more steps, then he just stops and the next one plays


• As we said, a player must reach the square No. 25 to be the winner.


If c is big enough to overpass the 25th, then still he is the winner.


For example, if a player stands on 21th square and the throwing of the dice is a=6 and b=1, then c=6-1=5. He must moves 6 squares forward. So, he will reach No. 25 and he will be the winner!


Do you want to make this game a little bit harder? We can add on a new rule for a certain square (No. 10 for example). When a player stands on this square, we can calculate a new c with another rule, c=ba, for example. You can add on as many rules as you want for different squares, and….
